New Chargers Added 24 hours to Thursday March 28th, 2013 + News Bits

Plugshare now lists (My Addition) a total of 16,185 Stations

They use dynamic tracking to both add new - and remove redundant, or test stations that are dropped, so simply adding in the new additions - does not equal the total numbers, and sometimes - new additions are listed - but need to have their duplicate entries purged. They List 16,206 Stations. I have not listed all duplicate stations and they may not have purged them yet.

News Bits:

Here is an interesting - if not new, artilce about the beginning of Electric Vehicles in China:
Few consumers tend to buy EV, whose era is still looming, due to the fledging technology and the construction of its infrastructure and supporting industries. Eight consumers, including Ms. Huang from Anting Shanghai International Automobile City, however, have succeeded getting the Shanghai license plates for their own EVs at Vehicle Administrative Office on Apr 6th 2011 . They are said to be the first private owners of the pure EVs bought from OEMs, like ZKLF ,Chery, Zotye and BYD ,all of which have achieved the goal of the sales of pure EVs in China. The achievements of the purchase wave for the private EVs can't be separated from the...(More)

The city of Salem recently installed eight electric vehicle charging stations in the Museum Place and South Harbor parking garages.

On Wednesday, Voltrek co-owner Kathleen Rosen was nice enough to offer a quick demonstration of exactly how these electric charging stations work.

Before hooking up, motorists have to first wave a charge pass in front of the station. If you don't have one, Rosen said you can call a phone number on the unit and the company can...(More)

Nissan still has an ace up its sleeve; the Infiniti LE electric car, which should hit markets in the year 2014, and almost assuredly with wireless charging.

Having just driven 10 miles out of my way to plug into a solar-powered Level 2 EV charger, I can say with some degree of certainty that wireless charging will be a huge plus for electric cars. If Infiniti can be the first major auto makers to bring wireless charging to the EV market, it could really accelerate adaption among the...(More)

Wireless electric vehicle charging systems have started to seep into the EV market, and little wonder. All you have to do is park your EV over a special pad and science does the rest.

It’s far more convenient than using a plug-in electric charger, and it’s almost comically more convenient than pumping your own gas at a gas station, especially when you consider the potential for wirelessly charging an EV while it’s in motion.

The only hitch, as is often the case with...(More)
