Having been unable to update the PlugShare Blog for some time, I reached out directly to PlugShare's Team, to see if I could get directly from them, a Summary of the data for the time since my last posting! It turns out - I am not Big Potatoes, but rather just a small fry! They would be happy to generate Custom Data, for larger organizations, for a Fee, of Course!
So in the mean time - they provided a few links for PlugShare Data Products, and from their first one, I find a few interesting examples of data they have provided, but not sure to who, if I wanted to follow up!

Ultimately, this gives at least some sense of the growth areas of the Infrastructure of EVSE's or EV Charging Stations, as tallied by PlugShare!
They also provided a Link to the "Alternative Fuels Data Center - Electric Vehicle Charging Station Locations", but this link just covers USA Listings and Data!

51 New Chargers Added 24 hours to Friday, April 5th, 2013, Now 16,500 Station Tracked!
Plugshare lists a total of 16,500 Stations
They use dynamic tracking to add new - and remove redundant, or test stations, but for those that are dropped, or removed, it is done manually, so simply adding in the new additions - does not equal the total numbers, and sometimes - new additions are listed - but need to have their duplicate entries purged. My count is 16,419 Stations. I have not listed all duplicate stations and they may not have purged them yet. I may have counted 1 as a count for one listing - but it might represent multiple chargers, hence some of the differences.
Over the last 24 hours - there have been 42 New Public Chargers, and 2 new Restricted Chargers added to the PlugShare network, plus 69 New Photos, and 7 New home stations being shared.
The additions tracked are:
- New Public Chargers Added = 22 Locations, 42 Chargers
- New Restricted Stations added = 2
- New Photos Added = 69
- New Home Stations Shared = 7

Say what you will about the high costs and short ranges of electric vehicles , a good many people who've had the privilege of driving or owning one are awestruck in love with them.
We caught up with members of the unofficial EV admiration society at a recent North Texas Plug In Day celebration. The event, one of dozens around the country, showcased commercially available EV's like the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf, as well as cars still tiptoeing into production, such as the elegant Karma by Fisker, the popular Prius Plug-In Hybrid (available in selected states) and the petite Mitsubishi iMiEV.

How Ontario is putting an end to coal-burning power plants.
By most measures of environmental policy and progress, Ontario, Canada, ranks well. Over the last half-century, Canada’s most populous province required cities and industries to treat every gallon of wastewater, dramatically reduced the level of sulfur and other pollutants that caused acid rain, and convinced the big and politically powerful pulp and paper industry to install state-of-the-art emissions control equipment.
Weaning economies off of coal, as Ontario learned, is no small feat. In 2003, Ontario generated 7,500 megawatts of coal-fired electricity, a quarter of its power supply. Ontario’s coal consumption peaked that year at 18.6 million metric tons. Coal-fired power plants were Ontario’s largest source of toxic chemical, heavy metal, sulfur, and nitrogen air
pollution. Carbon emissions from coal-fired generation had risen to more than 41 million metric tons annually. The program to end coal began that same year with an exceptional
debate about energy that helped decide the election for provincial premier.
Next year, though, Ontario is scheduled to complete a 21st century environmental cleanup project that distinguishes it among North American jurisdictions. After a decade of work by
the Liberal Party government, Ontario at the end of this year is scheduled to close the last of its big coal-fired generators, and leave a single small coal-fired unit available

Nations as diverse as North Korea and the United States have sent delegations to visit a tiny village in former East Germany to see how it has transformed the way it uses energy.
A 60-minute drive south of Berlin, and home to about 125 people, Feldheim is Germany's first and only energy self-sufficient village and attracts both international energy experts
and politicians.
The country of more than 80 million aims to derive 80 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2050. It has bolstered wind and solar energy generation, and following Japan's
Fukushima disaster in 2011 Germany announced that it will phase out nuclear power by 2022.

Elon Musk Confirms Smaller Tesla in $30,000 Range After Model X. If you’re thinking that you’d love to have a Tesla Model S, but it’s just too expensive, we have some good news. Elon Musk, one of the cofounders of Tesla Motors and the CEO of the company, said over Twitter that a smaller car is on the way in about three to four years that will cost in the neighborhood of $30,000 at today’s prices. He said that it will have a greater than 200-mile range.(MORE)

ABB has launched its Terra SmartConnect 20kW DC fast charger with delivery in North and South America in the second quarter. Initial shipments will support the CHAdeMO fast-charging standard, with SAE / Combined Charging System units available later this year. The charger is designed for commercial and office areas. It will fully replenish an electric car in 120 minutes, and take the battery of currently available EVs from 30 percent to 80 percent in less than half an hour, the company said.
Fuji Electric Corp. of America announced the beginning of production of its UL-Certified DC Quick Chargers for Electric Vehicles, with March seeing the first production units shipping out of Milpitas, Calif. 761 Chargers added to PlugShare since beginning this blog on Feb. 25th, 2013
From my first Post - Monday, February 25, 2013, at 3:32 PM Toronto Time, 15,397 Total Stations tracked by www.plugshare.com. March 27, 2013 - Tonight's post = 16,158 Stations. The difference = 761 New Stations listed as added by PlugShare in one short month!
With the Announcement that Nissan Will Triple the Number of Fast Chargers in the US - the issues of blocked charging stations will become even more challenging - as Fast Chargers Get Blocked. So having an escape plan as well as an education plan are going to be important tools for enhancing the operational experience of the EV in the Network.
Further - Been ICE'd? Blink offers courtesy note to rude gas car drivers. Or - "NICE Parking" signs... ya know, "No Internal Combustion Engine Parking".
There are many networks reported by PlugShare - and having a member card for each of them might be a bit unwieldy - but is going to be important for some time until all chargers have data sharing or access plans worked out. Blink, Chargepoint, and others have their own networks - plan ahead, learn how they work using PlugShare's website or apps, and get the network member card before venturing beyond the home routes! Chargepoint is the Biggest Network for data and access control - with currently 11,411 networked Charging spots on their network.

CHAdeMO Stations have been added; Level 2 and Wall Plugs have been added from both Public and Private Home Sharing Locations, and a great many people have checked in using the plug share network in various areas around the USA and Canada! (Lots of Photos have been added showing the chargers as well!)
Station issues are often as basic as either being ICE'd - or EV'd (Blocked by a non-user - an Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle, or by an EV Driver - Either Not actually charging - or not monitoring the charge and left the vehicle on the charger too long), but most can be dealt with with a simple sheet of paper - Note - plain paper or laminate for re-use, placed on the dash, with an application for charging information - like:
"Hi - I am charging here - from <2:00 PM> until <5:00 PM> Please do not unplug me before then <5:00 PM> unless an emergency. If you must - please call me at 123-456-7890!" (Just Fill in the time details as needed.)
For Vehicles that ICE'd EV Charging Spots - a Similar Sheet of Paper - with a message like:
"Thanks much for blocking MY Charging Station! I Don't Park My EV in front of your Gas Pumps and wander off, so Please don't do the same for me at my EV Charging Only Marked Spots! Remember - I am using Electricity - so you can have more Gas - Cheaper! Show Me the Thanks and Leave These For EV Drivers like me!"

Tesla Motors - Suppliers to the Tesla Model S - Info Graphic & Story

The Tesla Model S is one of the most advanced vehicles on the road today, thanks to its completely in-house battery and electric motor technology, but isn't a product solely of Tesla Motors.

For a company coming from a few people - with JB Straubel converting a 944 Porsche to Electric, with Lead Acid Batteries and two motors for acceleration, to the Prototype Roadster and formation of Tesla Motors using 18650 Lithium Ion Cells in a highly modified Lotus Elise, to the creation of their first new design production car - The Model S - they have come a long way in a few short years (~6-7 Years).

While some decry they can't charge up at the Tesla Superchargers - taking 98 kW and dumping it into a Volt, LEAF, Focus EV, iMiEV, or a Smart ED - would not necessarily be a great thing on their smaller battery packs! The Model S - only allows this on their much larger battery packs - the 60 kWh and 85 kWh packs as it is! As it is only two North American Electric Vehicles currently access the lower power rated CHAdeMO units at a maximum of 50 kW - the LEAF and iMiEV - when properly equipped.
Tesla to Offer CHAdeMO Adaptor on Model S Sold in Japan; Is U.S. Next?
Tesla Motors recently announced that the Model S will go on sale in Japan in mid-2013 and when it launches there, the electric sedan will be equipped with a connector that allows owners to use Japan's vast network of more than 1,900 CHAdeMO quick-charge stations.
Tesla has not indicated if it will make the CHAdeMO adapter available in the U.S., but with the part soon to be in production, it would be a logical step.
Many love the Tesla's 'Exclusive Free Supercharging Network' - particularly those who have now bought the Model S, and that will be buying it or the Model X! However - there are currently some 6 Locations of them in California, and 2 on the East Coast, while there are at least 160 of the CHAdeMO Chargers installed in the US, and 2 in Canada so far! So the Sooner Tesla Motors can provide Access to the Mid-Level (compared to their network) DC Fast Charging CHAdeMO units, the better they will be appreciated by customers, and outsiders alike.
Tesla Currently offers Charging from different outlets with their Mobile Connector Cable, using the NEMA 5-15 adapter in regular Wall Outlets at 110-120V, delivering 1.4 kW ((5 Miles of Range per Hour of Charging); NEMA 14-50, for use at KOA and other campground facilities - charging at up to 10 kW (Up to 31 miles of range per hour of charging); and NEMA 6-50 for Welding Equipment Sockets (Same 10 kW MAX); and for Dryer Plugs - they ahve adapters for the NEMA 10-30 (Older Dryers), or NEMA 14-30 (Newer Dryers) - for up to 5.8 kW charging (18 miles of range per hour of charging).

They also offer the J1772 Adapter - For the Roadster (Offering up to 56 Miles of Ranger per Hour of Charging at Max Power); and - Included with the Model S when you buy it. From the Facts Page, under the heading - Pricing - "a Mobile Connector and J1772 adapter." Here is a User Photo of the adapter - connected to a J1772 Plug.
They also offer for home charging - the High Powered Wall Connecter - that gives (If you have configured your Model S with the dual Chargers) up to 20 kW - or 62 Miles of Ranger per Hour of Charging (100 Kms per Hour). They say - "The Charger is not the thing you plug into the wall, that’s a Connector. The Charger is actually on-board the car." - which is true for AC Charging. I think they should say - ... 'is not the thing you plug into the car' (instead of 'plug into the wall' - but that's just me).
For DC Fast Charging - the actual charger is in the Unit that provides the Charging Cable - and the car routes the power directly to the batteries - bypassing the on-board chargers. This is the case with using their Supercharging network, and could also be the case when they get the CHAdeMO adapter in operation.
"Get a Half a Charge in Half an Hour" is one of the current Tesla Marketing lines for the current Superchargers. Also - Charge in Minutes, not Hours, and it's free.
So the Chargers should be targeted to be installed at 120 - 150 Mile Intervals for City Pairs. This would be basically 1/2 a charge on a 60 kWh or 85 kWh Model S cars range spacing. Such Distance might require more than they have announced, if the plan is to cover the USA and Canada, but simply focusing on the I5 California - BC Corridor, and the I95 Florida to Quebec Corridor would be a great start! These routes could then be follow by a North route along the I80/I90 Freeway on the North - and I10 along the South.
This would create a Box of 4 sides that could then be filled in going further forward, with Superchargers connecting Various other City Pairs.

New Chargers Added - Feb. 27th - 28th, 2013 Plus More News!
Again, 59 People Checked into Public EV Chargers today, which means most people are still charging up at home, and just 59 needed a little extra or did not have a home charger!

New Chargers Added - Feb.25th - 26th, 2013 - Updates on PlugShare, CHAdeMO, and ChargePoint!
Quite a bit to share today! Plugshare is now tracking 15,427 Stations!
Over the last 24 hours - there have been new Public Chargers added to the PlugShare network, (Plus a couple new Restricted Stations), New Photos, and New home stations being shared.
The totals tracked are:
- New Public Chargers Added = 11
- New Restricted Stations added = 2
- New Photos Added = 11
- New Home Stations Shared = 4
